Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking Operations Shift Technical Advisors to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

 

The Operations Shift Technical Advisors provide technical expertise and real-time decision support to the Shift Manager and facility operations organization during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations. Evaluates facility conditions, system performance, operating parameters, configuration changes, and planned activities to ensure operations remain within the approved safety basis and established operating limits. Provides technical guidance on safety-basis requirements, operational risk, equipment performance, abnormal conditions, startup/restart activities, surveillance testing, and configuration control, and coordinates with Engineering, Nuclear Safety, Maintenance, and other technical organizations to resolve complex operational issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical advice and decision support to the Shift Manager during facility operations.
  • Monitors facility conditions, operating parameters, alarms, equipment status, and process conditions. Takes action when necessary to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Evaluates technical information and recommends appropriate operational actions.
  • Identifies conditions that could adversely affect facility safety, equipment reliability, or mission operations.
  • Maintains awareness of facility configuration and significant activities occurring during the shift.
  • Interprets and applies the facility's Documented Safety Analysis (DSA), Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), Limiting Conditions for Operation (LCOs), administrative controls, and other authorization-basis requirements.
  • Ensures that Safety Basis requirements are properly implemented on assigned shift
  • Advises the Shift Manager when facility conditions approach or challenge established safety limits.
  • Evaluates whether operating conditions remain within the approved safety envelope.
  • Identifies conditions requiring entry into LCOs, action statements, abnormal operating procedures, or other prescribed responses.
  • Performs programmatic Safety Basis related reviews and assessments for operations.
  • Manages SRMS and associated documentation for completion of Safety Basis required activities.
  • Provides technical input regarding potential Unreviewed Safety Questions (USQs) and changes to facility configuration or operation.
  • Ensures shift decisions are consistent with approved safety controls.
  • Reviews all Surveillance Requirement documentation to ensure all Acceptance Criteria are met.
  • Supports the Shift Operations Manager / Facility Emergency Coordinator in determining Safety Basis impacts/requirements during abnormal/emergency events
  • Presents technical briefings or presentations, as required, that describe and explain approved facility operations and compliance implementation methods.
  • Provides Safety Basis training to shift complement.
  • Performs Impact Evaluations for planned activities including lockouts, work orders, etc.
  • Performs as Operations Implementation Coordinator for Safety Basis changes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and relevant experience; or
  • High School Diploma and a combination of secondary education and/or relevant experience; or
  • Current or elapsed SRS Control Room Manager qualified; or
  • Current or elapsed SRS First Line Manager Operations qualified

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Savannah River Site Liquid Waste Project experience
  • SRS Tank Farms Facilities experience
  • Current  Savannah River Site qualified Shift Technical Engineer (STE), Control Room Manager (CRM) or First Line Manager (FLM) qualified

Minimum Pay

USD $94,600.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $155,000.00/Yr.
