Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking a Facility Contractor Assurance Lead - Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

 

The Facility Contractor Assurance Lead administers and provides leadership and technical guidance for the execution and reporting of contractor assurance requirements as defined by the Department of Energy (DOE) for an assigned facility or area. These activities include: Effectiveness of assurance systems; Rigorous, risk-informed and credible self-assessment and feedback improvement activities, and a structured issues management system. Programs in place to provide Contractor assurance include: Requirements Flowdown and Procedure Implementation, Assessment Activities, Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions, Lessons Learned, Employee Engagement, and Trending and Performance Measures.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and executes the following at the facility level:
    • Contractor Assurance System (CAS) execution for environment, safety and health, quality assurance, integrated safety management; safeguards and security; cyber security; and emergency management are adequately defined, monitored, and effective. 
    • Provides subject matter expertise to facility leadership for most or all of the following elements: Requirements Flow down and Procedure Implementation, Assessment Activities, Causal Analysis and Corrective Actions, Lessons Learned, Employee Engagement, and/or Trending and Performance Measures.
    • Provides subject matter expertise at the facility level to functional area leadership such as Management Systems, Engineering, etc.
  • Ensures compliance by performing, coordinating and/or leading technical reviews, conducting investigations, researching and implementing solutions to ineffective or noncompliance situations.
  • Reviews conclusions of analyses submitted for inclusion in final reports.
  • Serves as the Backup to the Management Review Board chairman
  • Develops and performs/coordinates broad functional area (e.g., Conduct of Operations, Engineering, etc.) compliance-based and performance-based assessments and/or audits to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Ensures the facility level Contractor Assurance processes are integrated with the company level Contractor Assurance programs and processes.
  • Ensures facility level policies and procedures align with company level policies and procedures to ensure compliance and clarity.
  • Defines facility related performance indicators and supports trend analysis and improvement actions in CAS or Performance related programs.
  • Evaluates improvements for the effectiveness metrics to allow enhanced oversight of related functions.  Ensures metrics allow for actions to be initiated to address adverse trends early.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the organization’s corrective action and causal analysis program elements and develops improvement actions to ensure performance gaps are identified and analyzed commensurate with significance, and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to reduce the likelihood of recurrence of the issue.
  • Evaluates integrated facility level performance trends for areas requiring facility/company wide action and facilitates company level improvement actions.
  • Interfaces with Functional Area Program Managers (FAPM) periodic reviews to ensure that applicable requirements are accurately reflected in procedures and work processes used by the organization.
  • Assists in monitoring improvement plans that are underway to enhance the effectiveness of requirements that flow down to facility procedures.
  • Develops innovative actions to improve employee engagement as part of the Integrated Safety Management (ISM) program and develops improvements for strengthening an effective, sustaining Nuclear Safety Culture (NSC).
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and experience in an analytical position or role like the responsibilities of this position (e.g., Corrective Action, Issue Management, Operational Analysis, Statistical Analysis); or
  • High School Diploma/GED and a combination of education and/or experience in an analytical role comparable to the responsibilities of this position (e.g., Corrective Action, Issue Management, Operational Analysis, Statistical Analysis)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior management and customers/clients
  • Experience working at a DOE site or commercial nuclear or other complex industry in Performance Improvement processes.
  • Root Cause Analysis certification/training.
  • DOE  Readiness Assessment lead and/or member training or experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Corrective Action Management Systems.
  • Proficient with office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Minimum Pay

USD $92,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $155,000.00/Yr.
