Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking a Manager, Project and Operations Quality Assurance/Quality Control to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

 

This Manager is responsible for Operations and Project Quality Engineering and Quality Control Program implementation including oversight of policy development, procedures and practices related to the function.  Responsible as the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for DOE/RW/O\0333P, QA Requirements and Description for the Defense Waste Processing Facility.  Ensures adherence to 10CFR830, Nuclear Safety Management, DOE Order 414.1, Quality Assurance, and NQA-1, QA Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications, as well as other applicable rules and regulations.  Oversees the implementation of implementing procedures and process improvements.  Manages quality assurance and quality control professionals and/or subcontractors to execute work.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages SRMC quality assurance and quality control functions for all Liquid Waste Operational, project and minor modification activities
  • Responsible Quality Manager for DOE/ RW-0333P to demonstrate adequacy of the DWPF canisters to meet final repository quality requirements
  • Responsible Quality Manager for SCDHEC Tank Closure Quality Assurance Programs and implementation
  • Provides consultation and guidance for adherence and implementation of requirements under such requirements as 10CFR830, DOE Order 414.1, and NQA-1
  • Acts as company representative and interface to DOE and other external work groups pertaining to operational quality issues, Tank Closure, Projects, and DWPF Canister quality program implementation and effectiveness
  • Develops, implements, and supports procurement processes and cost-effective business strategies that ensure facilities and projects receive required materials of high quality and that meet specifications
  • Develops and/or modifies policy, procedures and/or practices related to the function
  • Conducts benchmarking and remains well versed in industry practice and protocol
  • Manages quality assurance and quality control professionals and subcontractors including, but not limited to, allocation of work assignments, work reviews, assessments, development and overall leadership
  • Ensures assigned personnel meet training qualification requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent educations/experience) with progressive experience in the quality assurance or engineering fields of which a minimum of 5 years is Nuclear Experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • Management or leadership over the quality assurance, quality control, or related engineering functions
  • Procurement Specification development and quality control experience
  • Demonstrated competence in DOE, DOD, and/or Commercial Nuclear QA/QC programs quality program practices
  • Demonstrated competency in regulatory interactions.
  • Current or previous qualification as an auditor or lead auditor (NQA-1) or equivalent
  • Experience with DOE/RW-0333P program implementation

Minimum Pay

USD $144,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $250,000.00/Yr.
