Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking a Manager, Laboratory to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

 

The Manager, Laboratory manages laboratory operations to support liquid waste operations. Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples. Records results of tests, organizes data, performs computations, and prepares reports and analyses.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages laboratory shift and first line supervisors (FLMs) to ensure accurate and timely analytical process support.
  • Responsible for the operation of the laboratory that provides sampling and analysis of high-level radioactive waste during the vitrification process to ensure compliance with the Waste Acceptance Specification of the Department of Defense-Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (DOE-OCRW) repository.
  • Responsible for the operation of the process laboratory that provides analysis of radioactive influent and effluent wastewater to ensure the water is purified before it is returned to the environment.
  • Supervises chemists and provides technical guidance on analytical method development, validation and verification to ensure new and current methods are technically sound.
  • Ensures personnel are trained and implement the QA program requirements.
  • Prepares operating budget for the lab to meet established deadlines and approve procurements.
  • Interacts with personnel across the company, and with other DOE sites.
  • Reviews and approves new procedures from R&D and/or DOE.
  • Evaluates requirements for improvements and guides long range planning for improving analytical capability by being sensitive to process needs, consulting with laboratory personnel, evaluating completion goals and obtaining needed resources.
  • Manages Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) interface
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or closely related technical discipline and relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a non-technical field and relevant experience; or
  • Associate’s degree and relevant experience; or
  • High School diploma or GED and relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science
  • Previous experience in a nuclear facility
  • Previous laboratory management experience

Minimum Pay

USD $128,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $220,000.00/Yr.
